For years we’ve been providing free woodworking tips, tricks, projects and tutorials in our videos and through the pages of our e-magazine, Stumpy Nubs Woodworking Journal. While there is much to learn from our free content, many wish to delve deeper into specific subjects that are of particular interest to them. Or they may wish to learn the craft in a more organized manner rather than the through the random and abbreviated format so common on YouTube and other websites.

Table Saw Basics
THE TABLE SAW COURSE EVERYONE SHOULD TAKE.
This course provides a comprehensive education that goes well beyond what other “Table Saw Basics” courses have to offer. Every woodworker, regardless of skill level, should take this course. It will teach new woodworkers the basics they need to use their saws safely and effectively. And it will provide valuable reminders that will help more experienced woodworkers that will keep their skills sharp and their fingers safe.

Progressive Woodworking Courses
Getting Started in Woodworking- This introductory course includes five projects that are specifically designed to provide a new woodworker with a solid foundation of valuable skills. Only very basic tools are required (a portable circular saw, a drill, etc.), making this course ideal for those who do not yet have a dedicated workshop. After completing these projects you will not only have several pieces of furniture you will be proud of, you will be ready to take on future projects of your own. Learn basic project design, how to fit parts and joinery, how to make doors and drawers, how to work with edge banding and how to apply paints, stains and clear finishes. Projects include an outdoor garden bench, a rolling shop stool, a pair of stacking bookshelves, a multi-level outdoor planter, and a chimney cupboard.
Becoming a Better Woodworker- This course is for those who own a table saw and who have made a few basic projects but wish to get a little more serious about their craft. Learn how to pay attention to detail, how to make and use jigs and how to cut more advanced joinery. Discover the basics of small-scale veneering and how to achieve a fine finish. This course will turn beginners into confident woodworkers with the skills to tackle just about anything. Projects include five types of boxes and frames, an end table/nightstand, a trestle table and chairs, and a chest of drawers.
Next-level Woodworking- This advanced course is for experienced woodworkers who wish to graduate to truly impressive work. You’ll learn advanced joinery, decorative veneering and marquetry, basic turning, carving and design. Projects include a dovetailed blanket chest, a box with a relief carving, a cabinet with decorative veneers, and a turned lamp.
Courses for Mastering your Tools
Advanced Table Saw Joinery- Pick up where our table saw basics course left off and learn to cut tapers, dados, grooves, lap and bridle joints, finger joints, coves and more. After this course, there’s little you won’t be able to do with your table saw!
Router Basics- Learn how to choose and use a router safely and effectively including handheld and table-mounted operations. Achieve cleaner cuts, eliminate tear-out, combine bit profiles to create creative moldings and cut basic joinery.
Advanced Router Techniques- Get the most from your router and router table in this next-level course. Cut mortise and tenon joints, dovetails and finger joints. Build and use essential jigs. Learn to utilize templates and master frame and panel construction for furniture and cabinets.
Sharpening for Woodworkers- Learn what sharp really means using various methods from sandpaper to stones to power systems. Learn to sharpen with jigs or without, and how to get the perfect edge on chisels, plane irons, knives and other woodworking tools.

Project Courses
Build your Own Kitchen Cabinets- Gain the skills and confidence you need to tackle that project you’ve been promising yourself for a long time! We’ll design and build wall cabinets, base cabinets- both frameless and with traditional face frames. Learn cope and stick and mitered construction with raised panels or glass. Make and install drawers. Then apply a durable painted, stained or clear finish.
All about Cutting Boards- Everything you need to know about making cutting boards for yourself, your friends or for profit. You’ll build them in slab-style, strip-style, end-grain and beautifully segmented with complex designs. Plus make cheese boards and pizza peels, and learn how to finish and maintain your wooden products.
Make an Exterior Door- This is a bucket list project for many woodworkers! Build a solid wood door that will adorn your home for generations. Learn techniques to prevent warping and how to endure the forces of nature.
Make A Hybrid Rocking Chair- This rocking chair is part Windsor, part Maloof-style with a unique carved crest. Not only is it a great chair, it’s also a great introduction to chairmaking!
